Men's Monday Message: To Be Found In God

Good morning mighty men of valor.

If you are like me, I often focus on finding my strength, peace, wisdom...

... you know all the good, God stuff from within.

Afterall, I have the Spirit of God within me (1Cor 3:16, Gal 4:6).

It is all about God being "with me".... and He is!

Praise His Holy Name... for "He will not leave me, nor forsake me."

But....

I also found several scriptures that say I/we are "in God" as in

1 John 2:5 (NIV) ,"But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him:

The Amplified (AMPC) says it this way "... truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him:"

This challenged my perspective as I sometimes struggle to "get more of Jesus or the Holy Spirit "in me".

This puts me in a "TRY HARDER" mode.

Can you relate?

But 1 John says I am "in Him"... To be found in God.

In Phil 3:9 Paul writes. "And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law’s demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith."

Seems like something done for me, not by me.

That's different.

Yes, the Spirit of God is in me/you, but we are also in God.

That takes my eyes off me and puts them on Him, where they should be.

Ps 121:1-2

I will lift up my eyes to the hills

From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth.

Think about it!
