Good morning mighty men of valor!
Here's the question that we all know in our heads, but sometimes it doesn't show in our hands... Grace or Works?....
Has been a topic of conversation in the church for … well always.
I believe part of the issue is that we men are wired to do stuff, act, create…
We are always in the mode of, “tell me what to do and I'll do it.”
Or “How do I earn that?”… whatever “that” is….
Promotion…. A raise…. A trophy…. A title
But one thing we cannot earn is eternal life…. salvation
We just cannot be “good” enough…. Not possible.
Thus, we are saved by grace.
Truth is, Jesus didn't come to get us GOOD, He came to get us FREE!
Free to Love and Live as God intended.
“But, what about the law, the 10 Commandments, the stuff we are to obey?”
I hear you and it is more about purpose than performance.
Jesus said in Mat 5:17-18 that He did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill the law.
In other words, to satisfy God’s laws that were, and are, meant to guide us in life… that would have us live God's way, not My way....
A life that is abundantly filled with Him... and, thus, all blessings.
So, what are we to do?
Jesus said if you love me, obey me.
Obey God’s laws for it shows our love for Christ... no other reason... no other motive.
Not to earn heaven… for that Christ has provided to those who receive Him,
But to thank Him, appreciate all He did, to acknowledge and try to apprehend His amazing grace....
Afterall... we have been pardoned from all iniquity by Christ and Christ alone.
What better way to worship Him, to honor the Holy Spirit and bring Glory to our Heavenly Father than with our obedience?
Think about it.
Strength and Honor, but only for His Glory,
