Good morning mighty men of valor...
Well, the big game is over... Super Bowl LX... Super Bowl 60 is behind us.
Congrats to the victors.... condolences to the defeated.
Ya know, I have witnessed all 60 Super Bowl games!
And, although I enjoyed most of them and have been entertained by them and have enjoyed the gatherings I have either been invited to or hosted, I have come to the conclusion that the value they bring to my life is very small.
Yes, I am sometimes inspired by the talent of the players, the teamwork they project, the discipline, the perseverance, the agility, the effort they display... but, truth is the game is really nothing more than a distraction to the important issues of my life and of those important to my family..,
These great athletes play and compete for a prize... The Lombardi Trophy, but I receive no prize... for I am not on THIS field.
Yes, I can be inspired, but most of the time I/we do not take that "inspiration" and convert it to improving ourselves... winning the game of life we are engaged in. Running MY race.... for MY prize.
I have come to realize...
It is not about "inspiration" but "transformation"!
It is not about "strength", but "submission".
It is not about "performance", but "perseverance" .
It is not about beating the other guy but serving the other guy.
It is not about being great but being great at giving grace.
The prize?....
Hearing "good and faithful servant" from our Head Coach... The Lord Jesus.
Think about it!
Strength and Honor, but Only for His Glory,
MDN Coach Dennis Labriola
