Good morning brothers in Christ.
I believe one of the attributes God looks for us to develop is "consistency".
Actually, the whole world looks for this in a man and we see this in so many areas of life.
Sports.... Mr. October.... always delivers.... always clutch.
Work.... always on time.... never out...
Business.... Honest Abe... never compromises
In Marriage... Like Romeo and Juliet ....
With God.... A servant, Christ-like.
Sometimes not so complimentary...
An clumsy oaf... always dropping stuff.
A "player".... eyes always roaming
A cheat, a liar, a manipulator, a narcissist.
How we behave on a consistent basis declares who we are inside.
Our "outer" self defining our "inner" self.
But the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8 said that we should think on a different set of stuff.
Things that are true, just, noble, pure, lovely, of good report.
Stuff that is "praiseworthy".
Why?
Isn't this what Romans 12:2 instructs?
It is in the renewing of our mind towards God that will transform us.
Changes to the "inner" self will be displayed in our "outer" self.... Transformation.
But this takes a consistent effort.... constant training... like an athlete or musician (1Cor 9:24-27).
The good news is that we can do this.... A little practice... a little prayer... a little patience....
A lot of the Holy Spirit.
"Consistency is the fabric of one's character that allows anticipation of one's behavior."
Think about it.
