Men's Monday Message: Bless You

Good morning mighty men of valor,

Ever really thought about the word "blessed".

We often hear it after a sneeze (although less often in recent days, just my experience), but have you really considered the depth of its meaning?

As we study God's Word we find He expresses His love for us in the richness of the language used.

Being "blessed" is much more than being good.

I've recently discovered that each time the word "blessed" is used in Matthew 5 (Be Attitudes) the meaning is slightly deeper... slightly different... and a bit richer in meaning.

Consider these Biblical expressions from Matthew 5

Being BLESSED is

-- being spiritually prosperous with life-joy

-- finding satisfaction in God's favor and salvation regardless of the outward conditions

-- being very fortunate

-- being forgiven

-- being refreshed by God's grace

-- to be happy.... enviably happy....

-- to have happiness produced by the experience of God's favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His matchless grace

-- being inwardly peaceful

-- being spiritually secure

-- being worthy of respect

-- being joyous... blithesome

-- being nourished by God's goodness

-- being content

-- Being sheltered by God's promises

Wow,... how do you get all that in one word?

Another "GOD" thing!

Just another glimpse of how much God loves us.

So, next time you hear or say, "God bless you", pause and think on the depth and richness of that phrase and sentiment.

For me, I'll never let that word pass by my lips or ears again without knowing, just a bit more, how God loves us.

Think about it... and God bless you!

Strength and Honor, but Only for His Glory,
