Men's Monday Message: Not DEAD...Not DONE!

​Good morning men of God...

As I get older, I find I do 2 things....

... I look back, often to analyze what I could have done better.

...and I look ahead, often to see what I have left to offer.

I'm not saying this is a good thing... it is just a real thing... 

How 'bout you?

Heck, I wrote a book that depicts that very thing... Seventh Inning Stretch,

...that time in the "game" where we pause, sing God Bless America, and look back on the first part of the game knowing that there is still some "game" left to play.

Maybe you are feeling the same... if you're under fifty maybe not, but you may one day, especially when you begin getting those AARP emails and Social Security reminders. 

To you young men, understand this now so you can always embrace the ramping up rather than the slowing down.

To my "senior" brothers, as we grow in years, we hopefully will grow in God's wisdom... In other words, "work smarter not harder". 

To all of you... invite the Holy Spirit into your work and vocations, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path to work smarter not harder (my paraphrase of Proverbs 3:6).

A friend of mine pointed out that the Word of God, except for a specific passage in Numbers 8, does not support the concept of retirement. In fact, our later years are to be more productive than our early years. Perhaps we modify our activity to more "valuable" areas in God's eternal posture, but we are not to "roll ourselves up in a big ball and die". (Frank Sinatra had it wrong). 

This brother said it simply..... "If you're not DEAD... you're not DONE!"

Sounds like a bumper sticker.
