Men's Monday Message:A Man's Strength and Faithfulness is Measured by His Level of Intimacy with God

Good morning men of God....

So... on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is the highest, what is your level of intimacy with God?

How hard do you work on your relationship with the Almighty?

In fact, do you see Him in this adjective of "Almighty" or do you see Him more as Abba Father?

Think about it?

I remember watching Sesame Street with my daughter when she was a young child where Grover was teaching the difference between "near" and "far".

Intimacy with God? ...... Near..... or Far?

When Jesus was asked, "what is eternal life" his response, at least for me, was a bit unexpected. He defines eternal life as "knowing God (and the One in whom He sent).

Isn't that our real goal in life? To know Him?

After all, He "knows" you.

So what are you doing to "know" Him better?

Yes, the normal list applies.... Read the Word, Pray, Worship, Study.... all good and all need to be part of this..... but if it is just a checkoff list, ...well my wife doesn't respond to a checkoff list, she responds when our hearts touch. When I am intentional to be with her. When she is the only person in the room, the only one I see.

Maybe knowing God is similar..... an intentional effort to give Him my heart where I remove all the distractions and truly spend some time with Him. To walk with Him and talk with Him and listen to Him.

Intimacy with God....... where He and I ..... He and you are one.

Strength and Honor, but Only for His Glory,
