Men's Monday Message: Good Day/Bad Day

Good morning my great brothers in Christ,

I want to report that my daughter, Stephanie, has given me my first grandson (I have 4 granddaughters via my daughter Christy, so number 5 overall).

He's a cute little guy named with my son-in-law's family name.... Georgino....

... it's a good name... a strong name.

From where I am sitting (Long Island, NY), it is a great day....

Temp will be about 60 degrees (first time we hit that nice number this year), snow is melting away, sun is out and I am feeling good!

Don't worry I'm not going to break out in song...

... although maybe we should, for this IS the day the Lord has made.

I should feel this good every day... but, sometimes I don't... how 'bout you?

Sometimes there is "stuff" we need to deal with and life is hard. The day is hard.

Everybody has tough stuff at times. But the question is how do we face the hard stuff?

The Word of God says much on this subject and it is so important that we have the Word of God etched in our hearts so we can be strengthened.

Strengthen ourselves in the Lord as King David did. (! Sam 30:56).

Have those "go to" scriptures that somehow pull us up from trouble into the "high call" of Christ Jesus (Phil 3:12-14).

We need to develop the "muscle memory" so we respond correctly. not react emotionally.

For me, it is James 1:2-4... "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect (mature) and complete, lacking nothing."

And, John 16:33 - "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

What are yours?

Think about it.... and let me know.
