A few years ago, I had the honor of meeting Joe Girardi at a Men’s Discipleship Network fund raising event. Joe, then the manager of the New York Yankees (managing Philly now), spoke not just about his role to manage a group of ballplayers, but how his former managers and coaches help mold him into the person he is today. He continued by expressing his understanding and his responsibility to pay-it-forward to those he is privileged to meet, not that he has it all figured out except this one thing... we are all in this together. I found Joe to be genuine, kind, fun and a man who lives his faith. Once a Yankee, always a Yankee..... at least in my eyes.
