So how was your week?
At Men's Discipleship Network (MDN) we show either a thumbs-up, a thumb sideways or a thumbs-down to indicate our current condition.
For me, it was a challenging week.
So, how do you respond when things aren't going quite to plan? ...
When trouble shows up at your door?...
When the unexpected is suddenly upon you?...
Or when the expected doesn't appear?
Do you find it throws you into a tissy, a whirlwind, a state of worry and doubt, an anxiety attack or causes you to lose faith?
For most of us we do everything in our own strength and abilities to resolve the issue. How's that working for you?
For some of us we have learned to go to God first and allow Him to take the wheel. We seek His wisdom and gain His resolution. We are still in the car, part of the action, but our God is calling the plays.
A recent MDN post says..."The Christian man does not pray to escape the struggle, but rather to embrace the struggle."
Remember James 1:2-4, ...where it says to count it all joy when we fall into trouble...
I believe it is in these times that the strength of our faith is tested... like checking the strength of an iron bar. With each "test" additional strength is added and confirmed. It is this that assures and gives us confidence and patience so that we will mature in Christ, embrace the struggle and become more "Christ Complete" and in that we shall lack nothing.... that's "overcoming".
Think about it!
Strength and Honor, but Only for His Glory,
