Good morning brothers in Christ,
Next week we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus..... Christmas
For me, it brings many thoughts and memories of Christmas time as a youth.
We often see the glow of wonder in our kids and grandkids allowing us to feel, once again, the joy and excitement of the season.
As we contemplate deeper as to God's intervention into our lives, bringing us from darkness into the light with the gift of all gifts, let us pause from the busyness of the day and be glad in it with a word of praise and thanksgiving.
I know, there is all kinds of stuff going on... trouble, stress, pressure, demands, workloads.... I get it.... but is this our Father's intention for us?
I remember when my daughter, Christy, was very young she sang "if it had not been for the Lord by my side, where would I be, where would I be?"
Cute from a 4-year-old, but Oh.... from the mouth of babes.
Jesus, in Matthew 18 says we need to "become as little children" to enter into the kingdom of heaven.... "But I have all these responsibilities!"... I hear you.
But at the same time maybe there's a better way.
Childlike faith.
Childlike joy.
Childlike excitement.
Childlike innocence.
Childlike belief.
It is not that we should ignore our responsibilities, but perhaps if we simply believe as a child that God is with us... all the time... in everything... things get a little easier.
Yes, let us pause this very minute and call out to Abba, Father, each day to live in the joy and peace only He provides.
Think about it!
Strength and Honor, but Only for His Glory,
